ISKCON Gopal Jiu Publications

His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada expressed the nature of the Krishna Consciousness mission as follows:

Our mission is that we are asking people without any argument of political purpose. Simply we are asking that you chant "Hare Krishna". That’s all. Wherever we are opening our branches, it is our only business that we are requesting people to chant "Hare Krishna" or "Radha Krishna". We don’t want anything. We don’t want to do any business. But we are simply spreading this Hare Krishna mantra because people are being washed away... (Room conversation 18 April 1972)

This is not a website for news, business, politics, social intercourse, or mundane promotion or bashing of any institution. Our conviction is that krishna-katha is the panacea for all problems and is the truly unifying platform for all sincere seekers of the truth. Gopal Jiu Publications is dedicated to rendering some humble service for the pleasure of the vaishnavas and Sri Sri Guru and Gauranga by serving krishna-katha. You'll find here some excerpts from our publications as well as information about our email mini-magazine. We crave the blessings, comments, suggestions, and support of the vaishnavas and thoughtful persons.

Krishna-katha

Krishna-katha means transcendental subject matter. Literally it refers to the name, form and pastimes of Krishna the Supreme Personality of Godhead. In his purport to Srimad Bhagavatam 3.5.7 His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada has described the nature of krishna-katha:

People are inclined to hear pleasing narrations and stories, and therefore there are so many books, magazines and newspapers on the market to satisfy the interests of the developed soul. But the pleasure in such literature, after it is read once, becomes stale, and people do not take interest in reading such literature repeatedly. The case is similar with all mundane literatures. But the beauty of transcendental literatures like Bhagavad-gita and Srimad Bhagavatam is that they never become old. They have been relished by saintly persons in India for the last five thousand years, and they have never become old. Such literatures are ever fresh and even by daily repetition of the verses of Bhagavad-gita and Srimad Bhagavatam, there is no satiation for devotees...
